Origin Story

At age 39, although I lived what seemed to be an idyllic life, with three children, a loving husband, a beautiful home, with no financial worries, I quickly descended into depression. I sank from being highly accomplished and energetic into helplessness.  While in a hospital psychiatric unit, I met many hurting and desperate people I had only heard about but never met. The suicidal, the addicted, the demonically oppressed, and those saddled with infirmity.

The Lord had put me face to face with the people He wanted me to help.  During my two-year recovery period, I walked closely with the Lord relying on Him every moment of the day until walking with Him became the norm.  Then I pursued studies in practical ministry partnering with others to pray, deliver, and strengthen the weak.

I began with individual personal ministry then discovered many more needed this kind of caring. The need was not Bible Study but a more personal lifestyle fellowship.  Individuals do not need to understand theological rhetoric to implement a Biblical lifestyle.  My home church did not have the resources or manpower to offer this kind of small group ministry. I started developing workshops so more people could receive basic ministry offered on the personal prayer ministry platform.  Material for these workshops became useful to many and in demand so I began writing books for more people to benefit.

Now, having more than 30 years of experience in pastoral counseling, teaching, and mentoring, I am focused on ministering to the-man-in-the pew, those searching for God in everyday life, and leaders who often have to stand alone. I guide and encourage developing leaders in the church and in the marketplace.

In this season of my life, I am in my fifth career.  The first career was that of a public school music teacher for K-8 and a university lecturer. After that, for 15 years I was a stay-at-home mom for three children. As the children moved on to college, I worked in the mortgage industry as a document supervisor during which time I studied practical ministry earned a masters and doctorate.  Now as an ordained minister and author I am still exploring ways of furthering the Kingdom of God.

Born in Hawaii and now a resident in California, I have been married for 52 years and have an international family of three children and three grandchildren.
